White Asparagus Party 2023 hosted by the German Chamber of Commerce
White asparagus heralds the arrival of spring in Europe.
It's as exciting as cherry blossom viewing in Japan!
The White Asparagus Party, sponsored by the German Chamber of Commerce, was held at the Palace Hotel on May 24th, and I was joined by members of the Grosse Club.
Grosse is a platinum sponsor.
A whopping 350kg of fresh white asparagus was flown in from Germany just for this party! 1kg per party participant!
We thoroughly enjoyed a full course meal of asparagus and paired wine with wonderful people, including the German Ambassador.
The participants praised the white asparagus, saying, "This is the first time I've ever eaten such delicious white asparagus!" Reservations filled up quickly this time, so we will prepare more seats next time.
